King Salman: We contributed $ 21 billion to the G20 to address the Corona pandemic

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz said, Saturday, that "this year was exceptional", as the Corona pandemic caused the world economic and social losses, adding that "we should reassure our peoples and give them hope."

He added, during his speech at the opening of the G20 summit, which Saudi Arabia is supposed to host this year, given the circumstances of the Corona pandemic: "We trust that the G20 summit will come out with policies that restore reassurance and hope to the peoples of the world."

King Salman expressed his confidence that "the Riyadh summit will lead to important and decisive effects," noting: "We contributed to the G20 with $ 21 billion to address the Corona pandemic ... and we provided emergency support to developing countries by suspending debt payments."

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said, "We aim to seize the opportunities of the twenty-first century for all ... we have taken exceptional measures in the G20 to support our economies," stressing that, "we must in the G20 provide support to developing countries in a coordinated manner."

He added, "We have to reopen our economies and our borders to facilitate the movement of trade and individuals ... We are proud of the progress in finding vaccines and treatments for the Corona virus," stressing: "We are working again to confront a global crisis that has afflicted people and the economy."

The Saudi monarch added, "We must create conditions to make vaccines available in a fair and affordable manner."

He added, "We have promoted the principle of the circular economy of carbon," stressing, "We have endorsed the Riyadh initiative on the future of the World Trade Organization."
