Wölfersheim (dpa / lhe) - According to the police, a fire in a single-family house in Wölfersheim (Wetteraukreis) resulted in damage of around half a million euros.

The two homeowners, a 71-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman, were in the house at the time of the fire and were able to save themselves, the police said on Saturday.

Both were slightly injured.

Even three people from the fitter's apartments in the house were able to get to safety in time.

According to the police, there was a loud noise shortly before the fire on Friday evening - possibly a deflagration. Accordingly, the fireplace in the house was on before the fire. Shortly thereafter, the living room of the house burned abundantly. According to the police, a firefighter was slightly injured during the extinguishing work. In addition, the adjacent federal road had to be closed. Fire investigators should look for the possible cause on Monday.
