Munich (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have also lost their third game in the preparatory tournament of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Saturday, the capitals were defeated at EHC Red Bull Munich 2: 3 (1: 0, 1: 0, 0: 2, 0: 1) after extra time.

The Berliners led through goals from Parker Tuomie and Marcel Noebels after forty minutes, but had to be content with one point in the end.

This means they remain bottom of the table in their preliminary group at the Magentasport Cup.

In front of empty stands in the Munich Olympic Ice Stadium, both teams played quickly from the start and came up with some good chances.

Thanks to Tuomie's goal, the polar bears went into the first break with a narrow lead.

Even in the second third, the guests remained more effective.

Noebels expanded the lead after a fine individual performance, while the Munich team failed again and again because of the strong Berlin goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger.

In the final section, however, the polar bears gave up victory.

The hosts increased the pressure and equalized with two goals from Christopher Bourque.

In extra time, Zachary Redmond scored the decision in favor of Munich.
