The requisitions of the Advocate General as well as the defense pleadings will take place on Saturday morning.

The civil parties will plead late Friday afternoon, added Matthieu Husson.

Friday's hearing began around 10 a.m. with the viewing of the strong confrontation between the accused and Alexia's mother, Isabelle Fouillot, during which Jonathann Daval abandons the theory of a family conspiracy and delivers new confessions.

The accused has yet to be questioned about his personality.

Then several witnesses will take the stand, including his mother, Martine Henry.

Jonathann Daval has been tried since Monday before the assizes of Haute-Saône in Vesoul for the murder of his wife Alexia in October 2017. He maintained until now that he never wanted to kill his wife, admitted Thursday for the first time to have him intentionally "killed".

He faces life imprisonment.
