At the recent Japan-Australia summit meeting, Minister of Defense Kishi welcomed the fact that the Self-Defense Forces and the Australian Army had agreed on a broad agreement to pre-arrange measures such as joint training, and welcomed it as a major achievement. He expressed his hope that cooperation would progress.
At the summit meeting between Prime Minister Suga and Australian Prime Minister Morrison on the 17th of this week, a general agreement was reached on an agreement to pre-arrange measures such as when the Self-Defense Forces and the Australian Army conduct joint training.
Regarding this, Minister of Defense Kishi said at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, "The agreement facilitates joint training between the two countries, and it is a great achievement that we were able to confirm the general agreement and announce it in a joint statement." Said.
