During a speech at the festive board dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the department, Egorov recalled that the civil registry offices of Russia today work in a single information base (USR registry office).

All registered acts of civil status are entered into it.

“By the end of the year, information from 1926 will be digitized, which is 525 million records, which were still isolated on paper.

In the near future - the transition to the registry model and the abandonment of some types of paper forms.

Soon, for example, a divorce certificate will become history, and a marriage certificate may only be issued to preserve the solemnity of the ceremony, ”Yegorov said.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree according to which citizens will be able to get a job with an electronic work book from January 1, 2021.

The law on the transition to the new format came into force in 2020.

Until its completion, the transition will be voluntary, and paper work books will no longer be started for those first hired next year.
