- That our care and welfare recipients feel safe is a priority for us.

The use of a mouth guard or visor is a measure we are introducing to further reduce the risk of infecting care recipients.

The recommendation for employees to stay home at the slightest symptom still applies.

Mouthguards do not replace the basic hygiene routines that already apply.

It is still important that we follow the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations, says Magnus Johansson, director of care and nursing.

Facial moments

The new decision means that visors or mouth guards will be used in all face-to-face aspects of municipal care related to home care, home health care, especially housing for the elderly and people with dementia, day care and activities for people with disabilities.

- In the past, staff would wear visors or mouth guards if the user had suspected or confirmed covid.

Now it applies to all facial care.

- We are feverishly driving out the equipment and the hope is that all units will have received it tomorrow.

All managers in all operations have received directives and they can then pass it on to the staff.
