Two years of research to finally get their hands on it.

A 20-year-old young man, domiciled in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, was arrested earlier this week during a check in public transport at Perrache station.

The individual, who was the subject of a search warrant, is suspected of having violently assaulted a 44-year-old prostitute in Chassieu, near Lyon (Rhône).

The facts date back to December 30, 2018. The forties, who worked rue du Progrès, was assaulted in her vehicle, specifies this Thursday the Sûreté du Rhône.

"Without cause," the young man, then 18, boarded the van to push the victim onto the bed and aim him with a handgun.

The suspect's DNA found on a tooth

Hit with a butt in the forehead, she struggled, even managing to repel her attacker, who eventually fled.

A few minutes later, the prostitute discovered in her vehicle, a tooth likely to belong to the suspect.

A DNA search then made it possible to identify the young man, say the investigators.

Heard Tuesday by the police, he denied any involvement in this attack despite the formal recognition of the victim.
