Emergency green light from the US Food and Drug Administration (Fda) to the first test for the diagnosis of the do-it-yourself coronavirus.

The green disc to the swab that provides the result directly at home, for anyone aged 14 and over, arrived in the late American evening.

It is produced by the US biotech with headquarters in California Lucira Health.

It can also be used in the hospital.

The FDA has not disclosed the cost but on the company's website it is said that the price is under $ 50.

"Although home collection tests have been authorized, this is the first one that can be done on its own and provides results right at home," FDA commissioner Stephen Hahn explains in a statement.

"This new test option - he adds - represents an important diagnostic development to address the pandemic and reduce transmission".

The result of the new Do-It-Yourself Nasal Swab Use is achieved in about 30 minutes.
