Partial lockdown since Monday


Turkey has joined the growing list of countries that are imposing a partial lockdown after a sharp rise in coronavirus cases.

The Turkish Interior Ministry announced today that the new measures limiting the working hours of restaurants, cafes, shopping centers and hairdressers from 7 to 17 will come into effect on Friday evening.

New record of cases in Tokyo


Tokyo has recorded a new record of coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, confirming data that indicate the arrival of a third wave, which could lead the authorities to impose new restrictions.

As reported by the public chain NHK, in the last 24 hours 493 new cases of contagion have been registered in the capital, a figure higher than the previous daily record (472), recorded on 1 August.

Nationally, Japan recorded a new daily record with 1,736 new infections last Saturday.



Australia, six-day mini lockdown in the south


The premier of South Australia has announced the imposition of a six-day lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus after the discovery of an outbreak in a hotel.
