Eva Kristensson's mother died in covid-19 at a nursing home in Malmö.

The family has decided that she will be buried in Rängs church outside Höllviken on 26 November.

- This place means a lot to our whole family.

We've been here since we were little.

That is why you want to try to end it in this environment in a nice way, says Eva Christensson.

But now they have been told that not all nine relatives can be allowed to attend the funeral service.

- It feels hard and it feels tough, she says and points to the confusion that prevails with different messages about what applies.

The County Administrative Board's website still states that the maximum limit is 50 people for meetings.

Buses and trains are full, says Eva, but her entire family of nine people is not allowed to attend her mother's funeral in a large church.

Message from the bishop

Jim Tullgren is a parish priest in Höllviken.

He explains the consequences of the decision from the bishop of Lund diocese that the staff should also be included in the maximum number of eight people in the church.

- This means that our caretaker can put things in order and then leave.

The funeral director can put things in order and also leave.

Then there will be a priest, musicians and six relatives.

Unfortunately, it's incredibly little, says Jim Tullgren.

- We have never had funerals in this way.

But we can only relate to it.
