"UN Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Loucock today allocated $ 100 million to ensure that people in countries most at risk of hunger caused by the epidemic, economic recession and climate change can feed themselves," the UN website said.

It is noted that Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, South Sudan and Yemen will receive $ 80 million.

An additional $ 20 million may be allocated to aid Ethiopia.

On October 9, the United Nations World Food Program received the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020.
