November 17, 2020 - England has loosened anti-Covid quarantine rules to allow seasonal poultry personnel to work during the 14 days of solitary confinement to ensure there are enough turkeys available for Christmas dinners.

The government explained that the change will allow turkey farmers to "have access to the necessary workforce to mitigate any risks to the Christmas food supply."

Under the revised rules, poultry workers will still be required to isolate themselves from the public to avoid the spread of the virus.
