How the infection got into the barn of the school's animals is not yet clear, but according to Anders Westlund, the virus should not infect humans.

- We do not do much about it but the cows will recover on their own.

The infection may have come with a visitor or with the feed, it is difficult to know.

We have also suffered from corona among the cows in the past.

Hear principal Anders Westlund tell more in the clip above.

Reassuring message

Since symptoms were discovered among the cows, the barn has been kept isolated, but now it has been reopened.

However, one is careful not to use the same clothes and shoes between different herds.

How can you be sure that it is not a mutated form of coronavirus, which was discovered in minks in Denmark?

- We have taken samples and sent them in.

We have been told by SVA (Statens veterinärmedicinska anstalt) this is Bovine coronavirus, so we are sure of that.

That it was just corona was a reassuring message for us, corona among cows is not so unusual.

Covid infection at school

On Wednesday, five students and one employee were confirmed positive in covid-19 at Lillerudsgymnasiet.

To prevent a major outbreak, the school decided on Thursday to switch to distance education for two weeks.

Infection tracing shows that the school had a certain spread of infection.

Distance learning will last at least week 47 and 48.
