The Hope Industry is

not far from the Syrian-Turkish border. Ghazal Hilal, the technical officer, is working hard to create a homemade industrial leg for a young man who lost his leg as a result of the explosion of a landmine left over from the battles between the opposition and ISIS in the countryside of Aleppo (northern Syria).

Hilal coordinates work with 16 workers at the Happy Steps Center, which provides free services for Syrians with amputations, and Hilal indicates that the number of cases benefiting has ranged between 50 and 60 cases per month since the center was established in 2014.

As for the mechanism of accepting cases, Hilal tells Al-Jazeera Net that registration is done through the quarantine system through the WhatsApp application or the center's Facebook page, titled "Hope is our goal."

However, according to Hilal, the center suffers from difficulties, most notably the inability to manufacture upper limbs in cases of amputation of hands and arms.

Because of the high cost, it was not possible to obtain special machines.
