Ras Al Khaimah Police warns that recreational bikes are on the roads

The Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police emphasized the importance of transporting recreational bicycles to wild areas by "recovery", pointing to a fine of 3000 dirhams for anyone who uses recreational bicycles on public roads, and seizing the bike for 90 days.

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department in Ras Al Khaimah, Brigadier General Ahmed Al Samam Al Naqbi, stated that the police are taking strict measures against those who drive recklessly and reckless vehicles and bicycles in wild places.

He explained that the Traffic and Patrols Department undertakes the deployment of patrols in the wilderness and desert areas in Ras Al Khaimah to reduce accidents in those areas, pointing out that if any bike or vehicle is caught disturbing others or driving recklessly, it will be seized and the schedule of traffic offenses and fines will be applied to it.

Al-Naqbi pointed out that one of the conditions for driving recreational bicycles and vehicles on land is not to throw waste in natural and desert areas, with a fine of 1000 dirhams and six traffic points for drivers.

He added that motorcyclists and motorists in wilderness areas must abide by traffic and traffic laws and not disturb, wear a helmet, provide safety and security tools and a driver’s license, not disturb other families in wilderness areas, and abide by not climbing or descending hills to avoid accidents, and drive carefully to avoid falling into the pits. In addition, the traffic expert, Executive Director of the Sa`ed Association for Reducing Traffic Accidents, Jamal Al Ameri, told "Emirates Today" that recreational cyclists and vehicles wishing to drive on land should keep away from nature reserves.

Use helmets while driving, and drive straight to see the road clearly.

Al-Amiri stressed the need not to run the engine for long hours so as not to burn, and not to go into the desert so that he does not get lost and the driver loses the mobile phone signal, loses its trace and is difficult to reach in time.

He advised recreational cyclists to walk in groups in desert areas in order to obtain support in the event they encounter any technical problems, in addition to determining the direction and the area to go to so that it is easy for the concerned authorities to search for the missing person in the event of any accident or loss.

Al-Amiri pointed out that cyclists and motorists should not practice any hobbies in desert areas during the night time to avoid exposure to any accidents, collisions or falls in depressions, and pay attention to the excavation areas because of the presence of companies operating in some desert areas.
