Once again, the presence of Islamists in Spain has caused the National Police to increase its pressure on all those movements that are linked to jihadism.

Indeed, the increase in terrorist activity in Europe in recent weeks has led to a parallel growth in police tension.

Thus, in the last hours, the General Information Commissariat has carried out a new operation to hit the jihadist recruitment networks in Spain.

On this occasion, Police agents have arrested a Spanish woman in

Cullera

(

Valencia

) for her alleged participation in the crimes of integration into a terrorist organization, financing, displacement to a conflict zone and apology for terrorism.

The National Intelligence Center (CNI) has also collaborated in the action.

The investigation began when the agents detected the presence of a strongly radicalized woman in the Valencian town.

After taking the appropriate steps, it was found that the detainee had undergone a radical change, going from leading a totally Westernized life to wearing the

niqab

and defending the most radical precepts of jihadism.

Last January, the detainee traveled to Turkey, where she came into contact with members of the jihadist structures based in northwestern Syria.

After his return to Cullera, he continued to permanently maintain these interactions, sending close to 5,000 euros to Daesh members.

He offered to marry

The specialists in the fight against terrorism detected that in the contacts of the detainee with the combatants, she encouraged them to continue with the

violent

jihad

and offered to be his wife.

According to the Police, in order to marry one of the jihadists she met through social networks, last September the investigated woman left her job dedicating herself exclusively to collecting money, which she obtained through the commission of criminal offenses, to pay for the trip to the "conflict zone".

The detainee was scheduled to make the trip to Syria via Turkey at the end of November.

Thus, he would have planned to obtain false documentation with which he could hide his Spanish nationality and reach the border area of Turkey with Syria.

There, a passer would help him cross the border and reach the area controlled by the jihadists in the northwest of the country, counting on the support of his contacts in Syria.

The investigators, after analyzing the information - aggravated by his desire to "be a martyr" and his recent praise of the attacks in France - decided to immediately arrest him and neutralize the threat he posed.
