"Israel will work with the Emirates and Bahrain to persuade countries around the world to designate the Lebanese Hezbollah as a terrorist organization," said Yehoshua Zarqa, the deputy undersecretary of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Strategic Affairs.

In an interview with Israel Today newspaper - affiliated with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - Zarqa added that in recent years the Israeli Foreign Ministry launched a campaign during which it succeeded in persuading about 14 countries to designate Hezbollah a terrorist organization.

He explained that Israel is now focusing its efforts on the European continent, and that its greater goal is to convince the United Nations to do so.

The land border between Lebanon and Israel is experiencing tensions from time to time as a result of what Tel Aviv says are attempts by the pro-Iranian "Hezbollah" fighters to breach the borders, while the maritime borders do not witness any military conflicts.

The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, had called a few days ago not to place high hopes on the administration of US President-elect Joe Biden with regard to the Middle East files.

Nasrallah added, in a speech on the occasion of "Hezbollah's martyr" day, on Wednesday evening, that the first constant of the successive US administrations is the interest of Israel.

Nasrallah called on what he described as the axis of resistance to vigilance and extreme caution.

To confront any possible US or Israeli aggression during the last two months of US President Donald Trump's term.

Border demarcation

Regarding the demarcation of the border between Lebanon and Israel, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah said that the state decides on the borders of Lebanon.

Nasrallah added that the state, with its institutions, decides where the land and sea borders of Lebanon are, and the resistance is committed to what the state determines, and considers that it is its duty, along with the army and the people, to defend these borders. This is still our position, and it has not changed.

He pointed out that the file of demarcating the borders with Israel is one of the achievements and fruits of the blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the resistance fighters.

He added that the only thing we asked for was indirect negotiations only on demarcating the borders.

He declared that the file of negotiations is isolated from the path of normalization in the region, and all that is said about negotiations between Hezbollah and Israel is under the table, and between Iran and Israel, and between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Israel and Hamas are just lies and illusions, and have no basis in truth.
