While the majority of shops in the city center will remain closed due to confinement, some Nantes residents have already started their shopping there ... Since Thursday evening, many of them have already logged into Mon Noël Nantes, a virtual market bringing together some 110 traders and artisans in the agglomeration.

Created in "record time" by two Nantes freelance collectives specializing in the web (Moon moon and We are Popeye), Mon Noël nantais is presented as an online sales site.

Each store was able to offer a selection of products there, and there is something for all tastes: designer jewelry, small notebooks, good bottles, toys, decorative objects ... Big strength, the platform is not just showcase but allows you to buy directly online.

For the moment, only delivery is possible while waiting for the "click and collect" service.

Around 600 products are already listed (some are already sold out), and new stores are expected.

“The objective was to give a boost to traders for whom this Christmas will be really complicated,” explains Marc Guesneau, one of the co-founders.

We wanted to create something easy, with one entry per product, to have the impression of strolling as if we were in town.

We hope that it will allow Nantes residents to consume locally and traders, even those who are angry with IT, to make themselves known.

"

This solidarity project is all the more so since registration on the platform is free for professionals.

Only a 4% commission will be charged by the payment system.

The site, created in parallel with the Nantes marketplace Ma ville mon shopping, should remain online until the end of January.

Its seven creators, who spend "all their weekends on it", promise that they will put "all possible means in advertising and communication" so that Internet users are at the rendezvous.

Other similar initiatives are emerging all over France.
