During the fight against corona, Italy is divided into zones, where reds mean closure and the yellow ones have lighter restrictions.

The corona situation in Naples has escalated in recent weeks with overcrowded emergency hospitals, ambulances in queues and a health service that is under pressure.

- The situation has been chaotic, says Jennifer Wegerup.

She tells how a man was found dead in a toilet in a waiting room of a hospital, which was filmed and went viral and made big headlines in Italy.

"Normal people"

The decision on a new shutdown was expected, but has created new violent protests.

People are heard chanting "freedom!" And "respect!"

on the streets.

And also that they are hungry and can not feed their children, according to Jennifer Wegerup, who is in Naples.

The new restrictions mean a closure of most activities in the region and that individuals may only leave home for necessary matters.

Then a certificate is also required.

- It is everything from ordinary people who do not know how to support themselves, to café and shop owners who protest, says Jennifer Wegerup.

There is also a lot of organized crime in the city, with the mafia constantly present, which makes the situation worse, according to Wegerup.

- There is an incredible amount of police, riot police, carabinieri and the military out on the streets.

It is a very tense situation, says Jennifer Wegerup.

Another acceptance

During the spring, there was a completely different acceptance for closure, partly because many were much safer than now, according to Jennifer Wegerup.

- But now people are worried that they will not be able to manage their finances.

We will see what happens during the evening, says Wegerup.

It is feared that this may get worse later in the night.
