Dubai Airports announced that 3 Israeli airlines will start operating direct flights from Tel Aviv to Dubai next December, as El Al will operate two flights per day, Israir will provide 6 flights per week and Arkia will operate a daily flight, about two months after the signing of the normalization agreement between the UAE And Israel.

Dubai Airports, which manages operations at the emirate's airports, indicated in a statement yesterday that El Al will provide service with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, while Israir will use Airbus A320 aircraft, and the daily flight to Arkia will be model Embraer E-195 and E-Jet.

The UAE and Israel signed a normalization agreement last September, making it with Bahrain the first two Arab countries to formally normalize relations with Israel within a quarter of a century.

“There has been a lot of anticipation since the signing of the agreements, and both sides recognize the importance of providing air connectivity as one of the important first steps to achieving these aspirations,” said Jamal Al-Hai, Executive Vice President of Dubai Airports.

Dubai-owned flydubai announced last week that it would operate two daily flights between the emirate, a business center in the UAE, and Tel Aviv this month.

In the context, Emirates Airlines in Dubai, which is the largest airline in the country, will sell tickets on flydubai flights through a code-sharing agreement between the two carriers.
