During the Paris Peace Forum, organized at the Élysée on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 November, Melinda Gates announced the payment of $ 70 million to fight the Covid-19 epidemic.
Objective: to inject this sum into the "ACT Accelerator", launched with the WHO, the G20 or even other NGOs, will make it possible to "distribute vaccines to everyone at an affordable price" and move forward in the research.
"The goal of this accelerator is that there is no nationalism in the distribution of the vaccine so that it is immediately deployed around the world, for caregivers, for the most vulnerable populations and all others" .
"If we don't do this, we will end up in the situation of Australia and New Zealand who have done a remarkable job of protecting their populations from Covid-19 and eliminating it in their countries. But there is re-importation with the people coming into the country. And so instead of reopening their economy, they're forced to shut down their schools and businesses, so this disease is going to rebound everywhere, unless we make sure that end with global solidarity and cooperation ”.
