Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced today, Thursday, the readiness of advanced local systems to be used in electronic warfare, and made a presentation on his country's capabilities in the field of military industrialization.

This came in a speech by the president during his participation in a ceremony to introduce new systems at the Aselsan Defense Industries facility in the capital, Ankara.

Erdogan explained that Turkey launched the new generation of electronic warfare system "Coral", noting that this system has superior capabilities in monitoring enemy elements and jamming. 

He stressed that the "Karakulak" system for eavesdropping and jamming of high frequencies is ready for use, indicating that the new system will give Turkey great power in electronic wars. 

The President pointed out that the tests of launching satellites with national capabilities were successfully completed. 

Erdogan indicated that Turkey had implemented 61 defense projects in 2002, and that the number has now reached nearly 700 projects.

He stressed that there are 7 Turkish defense companies in the list of the first 100 global companies, indicating that 5 of them entered the list in the last five years.

He confirmed Turkey's launch of about 350 projects in the last five years only for an effective struggle against the attacks the country faces, pointing out that his government raised the defense industry project budget to $ 60 billion.

The president noted that exports of the defense and aviation sectors reached $ 3 billion, up from 248 million. 

And he indicated that Turkey is now meeting its needs and the needs of friendly and allied countries, in terms of land and sea vehicles.

He added, "We are among the ten countries that are capable of designing and building warships, and among the first three or four countries in the production of armed and attack drones."

He also stated that his country is grateful today for the progress achieved in the field of defense industries in terms of its capabilities to implement anti-"terrorism" operations inside the country with ease, and peace operations outside the borders.

Overcoming challenges,


Erdogan indicated that Canada imposed a ban on cameras used in some drones due to the support provided by Ankara to Baku, pointing out that Turkey had produced a similar one in Aselsan.

And he added, "We incorporated them (cameras) into our marches and continued our path, and we were not satisfied with that, but rather we started a project for a better industry."

He explained that his country has become a strong country that overcomes the challenges and the overt and covert embargoes imposed by global suppliers. 

He indicated that the company's activities include many areas, including communications, radar, electronic warfare, electro-optics, security, weapons and missile defense systems, unmanned vehicles, platforms, ammunition, new generation artificial intelligence systems, energy technologies, transportation and health.

The President indicated that he watched today an introductory video regarding the "Karakolak" system developed by Aselsan, which today entered service within the armed forces.

He also noted that the new low-altitude air defense system "Qorqut" was delivered today to the Armed Forces.

Erdogan concluded by saying that the system is effective against targets such as planes and helicopters in addition to air-to-surface missiles, cruise missiles, and marches.
