From 2018 until last February, four women filed a complaint after being assaulted at different intervals on the same metro line in Paris.

A long police investigation led to the arrest and indictment last June of Jean Cabannes, member of the Superior Council of the Judiciary.

The former member of the Superior Council of the Magistracy, Jean Cabannes, was indicted for sexual assault after a major police investigation, as revealed by

Le Parisien

.

At the material time, between 2018 and February 2020, he was still working as a senior official.

It all started in 2018. At that time, a man, completely anonymous, approached young women in line 7 of the Paris metro.

It is always the same operating mode and in the same sector on the same line.

Four victims thus file a complaint between 2018 and February 2020. Some women say that he kissed them by force or that he touched their private parts.

Confused by his phone

For investigators, there is no doubt: it is the same assailant.

Dressed in a blue scarf, he changes trains at each station on the video surveillance cameras.

They then end up discovering, with the help of traders, that it is Jean Cabannes.

This 65-year-old senior civil servant worked at the material time as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council.

He is also an officer of the National Order of the Legion of Honor.

Jean Cabannes is finally confused by his phone which limited the scene of the assaults when they took place.

Investigators also found images and Internet searches such as "exib train" or "groped" on his computer.

In May 2020, Jean Cabannes was then placed in police custody but he denies everything altogether.

This will not prevent his indictment for sexual assault and, in the wake, in June, he is forced to resign from the Superior Council of the Judiciary.
