Fauci: "Covid" will not remain a pandemic for long, thanks to the development of vaccines

The chief infectious disease expert in the United States Anthony Fauci said today, Thursday, that the "Covid-19" disease will not continue as a pandemic "for a very long time", thanks to the rapid progress in the development of vaccines.

According to Bloomberg News, the director of the US National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Allergy said at an event organized by the British Chatham House Research Institute that the emerging corona virus may nonetheless remain an epidemic for a long time.

Fauci’s comments came after the US company Pfizer and Germany’s Biontec announced earlier this week that the vaccine they are developing is more than 90% effective, according to preliminary data for an expanded study.

It is also expected that the results of a similar trial of a vaccine developed by the American company Moderna will be announced.
