12 November 2020Protests from the governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, at the meeting of Minister Francesco Boccia with Regions, Municipalities (Anci), Provinces (Upi), which was also attended by Commissioner Domenico Arcuri, and the head of Civil Protection Angelo Borrelli.

De Luca protested against the disproportion between his Region's request for 1400 health workers (600 doctors and 800 nurses requested a month ago) - and the staff sent which - according to what he said - amounts to about seven anesthetists.

De Luca - according to what is learned - also reiterated that Campania does not need field hospitals but doctors having 14 thousand fewer employees in health care.

The Minister for Regional Affairs Francesco Boccia replied to the president of Campania: "The Government is totally at the side of the whole community of Campania and has always guaranteed maximum help to the Region through Commissioner Arcuri with lung ventilators and materials distributed and Protection civilian through medical personnel ".

"From 24 October Campania - replied Boccia - has on the table, through the Civil Protection, the availability of 2,236 health workers, enlist them and if you need other volunteers we will make an ad hoc call only for Campania tomorrow morning, but enough controversy . There are 1,172 doctors from Campania who want to work in Campania and over a thousand other health workers ".
