An expert who advises US President-elect Joe Biden of COVID-19 has introduced the initiative to contain the United States for up to six weeks.
According to the political media The Hill yesterday in local time, Michael Osterholm, head of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, said in an interview with Yahoo News the day before.
He was included in the advisory group in the form of the Corona 19 Response Task Force announced by Biden on the 9th.
Osterholm's head of the Center's Center, referring to rising savings and low interest rates in the United States, says that given the historically low interest rate situation, you can pay a package that covers all the losses for workers' wages, small businesses and local governments.
"There are many different ideas about the definition of containment," he said. "If you do that, you can do it for four to six weeks. As Asia, New Zealand and Australia have done, you can reduce the number of people infected."
"Once we do that, we will be able to get the vaccine in the first or second quarter of next year, and we will really see the economy turn around before that."
President Trump has taken a critical stance on the state's blockade to prevent the spread of Corona 19, but Biden is calling for protection by emphasizing the importance of wearing a mask and social distancing.
It is unclear whether this initiative will actually lead to Biden's policy.
CNBC broadcast said Biden had not responded to the comments of the Osterholm center director.
