Arms embargo, freezing of assets... EU announced that it will extend the period of sanctions on Venezuela by one year

  The Council of the European Union announced on the 12th that it would extend the sanctions against Venezuela until November 14, 2021.

According to a press announcement issued by the European Council on the same day, the decision was made based on the ongoing "political, economic, social and humanitarian crisis" in Venezuela.

Sanctions include arms embargo, travel ban on 36 Venezuelan government officials and freezing of assets.

The EU began to impose sanctions on Venezuela in November 2017 and has since extended the sanction period several times.
