Abdullah bin Zayed discusses with the US envoy for Iran and Venezuela developments in the region

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received the US envoy for Iran and Venezuela affairs, Elliot Abrams.

During the meeting - which was held at the ministry’s general office in Abu Dhabi - they discussed strategic relations between the UAE and the United States of America, and ways to advance the prospects for joint cooperation between the two friendly countries in all fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, and discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, including Iran, Syria and Iraq, in addition to developments in Venezuela.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Elliott Abrams’s visit, stressing the historical and strategic relations between the UAE and the United States of America, and joint work to strengthen and develop them in order to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries, and to benefit their peoples.
