The Government does not rule out a new

state of alarm

that allows

home confinements

that some autonomous communities have been asking for for several weeks.

The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda,

José Luis Ábalos

, has indicated that the Government could quickly apply a new state of alarm to allow home confinement, although he warned that it should wait to see if the current measures serve to contain the

coronavirus

contagion curve

.

This is how Ábalos expressed himself in an interview on Antena3, in which he asked "not to frivolize" about the possible application of

home confinement

since it is a "very serious" situation.

"Precipitating measures of the nature of home confinement at a time like the one we are living in is a very drastic action," said the minister, who assured that the Government will not take such a measure

until such time as it is "certain that it is absolutely necessary. "

.

In this regard, he stated that

"today the situation is being controlled"

for which he pointed out that he will observe how the contagion curve evolves to see if it is necessary to take other measures, always in line with what the health authorities recommend .

Likewise, in relation to the demands of the autonomous governments of the PP such as

Andalusia

, the minister pointed out that some parties have "a very different attitude in the administrations that goes beyond what they rejected in the Cortes."

Ábalos

has also referred to the forecast that the

Pfizer

vaccine

could arrive in Spain in January.

According to the minister, this forecast is the one that the Government has managed since the trials began and

not much has changed, so he showed his confidence that it will be fulfilled

.

On the other hand, it has shown itself willing that the Executive

can approve new measures to support sectors such

as transport that are being particularly affected in this second wave of the

coronavirus

, either by intensifying existing aid or extending them over time.

In any case, it has been revealed that the fact that

vaccines

may arrive next

year offers "a horizon to know more or less when normality could return," which makes it easier to predict what the temporal scope of the

vaccines

should be. helps.

In addition, he assured that "if we manage to regain that normalcy that we all want, we will have a significant rebound effect" that will allow us to overcome the economic damage caused by the

pandemic

.
