Russia: The Sputnik-V vaccine against Corona is 92% effective

The developer of the Russian vaccine against the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) announced that the vaccine called "Sputnik-V" is 92% effective, two days after the American "Pfizer" and the German "Biontech" company announced the development of a 90% effective vaccine.

The Russian Sovereign Fund and the Gamalia Research Institute issued a statement confirming the effectiveness of the "Sputnik-V" vaccine, which is currently in the third phase of clinical trials, with 40,000 volunteers participating.

"After analyzing 20 confirmed cases of Covid-19 distributed among people who received the vaccine and those who received placebo, it was found that the effectiveness rate was 92% for the Sputnik-V vaccine after the second dose," the statement said.

While Russia has so far refused to disclose scientific information about the vaccine, the developers of "Sputnik-V" have confirmed that the study will soon be published in one of the major medical journals in the world and will be evaluated by scientists.

The Russian sovereign fund confirmed that it will provide all the necessary information to the national regulators in countries wishing to buy the Sputnik-V vaccine.
