Garbage Parliament

 " or even "

corrupt Parliament

" chanted the hundreds of demonstrators gathered in the historic center of Lima on Tuesday morning.

All came to protest against the dismissal the day before President Martin Vizcarra, dismissed by Parliament on suspicion of corruption.

A decision that angered Sara, mother of a family: "

More than half of parliamentarians are the subject of an investigation for acts of corruption and they allow themselves to dismiss the president while the investigation against him is still in progress

?!

 "

The street against Manuel Merino

In the procession, they are also numerous to accuse Manuel Merino, the former President of Parliament and now interim President of the Republic of having orchestrated this dismissal for personal gain.

Cecilia, 25, holds up a sign

saying

“

Merino does not represent me

 ”.

She attacks the latter: “

Manuel Merino and his clique just want to distribute power and positions within the new government.

We're here to prevent that

!

 "

The demonstrators tried to approach the seat of Parliament on several occasions to question their leaders, but the police blocked their way, leading to violent clashes.

Result: dozens of injured and several arrests.

But nothing to discourage Fiorella, a young demonstrator: “

I am ready to return to the street as long as necessary.

We will continue to fight until we are heard

!

New protests are expected across the country on Wednesday.
