Bildu's General Coordinator, Arnaldo Otegi, confirms that his formation, which has five deputies in Congress, will vote yes to the General State Budgets "except for last-minute surprise" that, for now, he does not contemplate.

This announcement, made on the microphones of Radio Euskadi, has found an immediate response from the second vice president of the Government and leader of United We Can, Pablo Iglesias, who, in a message on his Twitter account, has taken for granted that the continuity of the legislature it is already guaranteed by the support of the investiture partners and, furthermore, that these parties will be the ones that lead the "direction of the State".

Iglesias refers to the political forces that supported the motion of censure against Mariano Rajoy and, later, paved the way for Pedro Sánchez, in coalition with United We Can, to become President of the Government.

In short, the pro-independence, nationalist and nationalist parties.

It is a block cultivated especially by Iglesias and with which it intends to block any possibility of Pedro Sánchez leaning towards pacts with Ciudadanos or, where appropriate, with the PP.

The second vice president has worked in recent months to get the Government to make concessions to these forces in order to ensure their support for the public accounts project that tomorrow will pass its first litmus test in Congress and will begin its parliamentary process.

With the support of ERC and Bildu, the Government would secure 18 votes that, added to its 155, place the possibilities of carrying out the Budgets on the verge of an absolute majority.

To this number of endorsements, he will undoubtedly add the two votes of Más País and the six of the PNV, as well as that of the BNG, despite the fact that the latter force has decided to present an amendment to all the accounts, although only as a warning.

Otegi has affirmed that the pact "is not closed" but has pointed out that "enough progress has been made" to be able to say that Bildu is "in a position to vote favorably if things do not go wrong between now and the vote."

And he added: "I am optimistic, I do not think they are twisted."

Otegi has also explained that the decision will be ratified by the militancy and has justified the vote in favor in the fact that in the Budgets "the political relationship with the State is played for the next few years" and that Bildu observes "receptivity" in the Government to its main request, which is "to shield the rights of the people."
