On Wednesday, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven called all party leaders to a video meeting to discuss the development of the coronavirus.

Also present at the meeting were the Swedish Public Health Agency and the National Board of Health and Welfare.

- It was a good meeting, it was clear that all party leaders take the increased spread of infection very seriously.

We had a good conversation about everything from increased testing to finding ways to relieve the care staff, says the Green Party's spokesman, Minister of Financial Markets Per Bolund.

Willing to impose more restrictions

Today, the government proposed a ban on alcohol serving in restaurants and bars from 10 pm in the evening.

According to Bolund, the government is prepared to introduce further restrictions if this should be needed.

- It can be about many different factors.

For example, how many can be seen at events, make sure that we further strengthen the resources for care and make sure that there is testing capacity, he says.

Criticizes the government

The Christian Democrats' party leader Ebba Busch is critical of the government, which she believes has been too passive.

- In a global pandemic with a national crisis, it is not possible to put it at the regional level to ensure a sustainable situation for healthcare staff.

The government must have its own opinion on whether this is reasonable or not, she says in the program.
