The Paris Bourse was up 1.23% at mid-session Tuesday, continuing to see the future with optimism thanks to the announcement of a promising vaccine candidate on Monday.

The CAC 40 index advanced 65.40 points to 5,401.72 points around 12:30 p.m.

The day before, it had been propelled by 7.57% after the announcement of the Pfizer and BioNTech laboratories on the positive outlook for their candidate vaccine against Covid-19.

London followed the same trend, while Frankfurt remained around equilibrium.

"Investors are now back in risky trading mode", observes Pierre Veyret, technical analyst at ActivTrade.

According to him, they "now anticipate the end of the coronavirus crisis", by turning again to discounted sectors.

Thus, BNP Paribas still gained 5.80% to 41.49 euros and Renault 5.55% to 27.59 euros.

Conversely, technology stocks were in more trouble.

In the United States, the futures contract for the Nasdaq index, which specializes in this sector, fell 1.90% while that of the Dow Jones rose 0.55%.

If investors have "high hopes", there is still "a long way to go" before the vaccine is released on a large scale, however, said David Madden, analyst at CMC Markets.

The number of Covid-19 contaminations is still very high in the United States and in Europe.

On the Old Continent, the effects of the restrictive measures are being felt on the economy.

Investor sentiment deteriorated again in Germany in November and hit its lowest level since April.

In France, unemployment jumped to 9% of the working population during the third quarter, before the effects of the new confinement which started at the beginning of November.

In the United States, outgoing President Donald Trump has still not conceded defeat to Joe Biden in the November 3 election and has initiated numerous legal remedies.

NO CAPITAL INCREASE FOR URW, THE RAVIS SHAREHOLDERS

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield had a crazy second session, marked by significant gains.
