The Rennes administrative court rendered its decision on Monday, seven years after the patient's death.

The latter had called the Samu on several occasions to alert them of suspicions of hemorrhages of which he was the victim.

The 15th had refused to send him an ambulance, on the grounds that the patient lived 500 meters from the Yves Le Foll hospital in Saint-Brieuc.

The regulator had asked him to come on foot or to call an ambulance.

Help had come too late

The next day, his sister, who was in charge of the 38-year-old man, called the Samu to explain to them that his brother could not afford an ambulance.

The emergency services had ended up moving but too late.

The man had died when he arrived at the hospital.

The hospital lawyer had estimated that "it was impossible to know that there was such an emergency".

The administrative court ruled in favor of the family and condemned the care establishment.
