The German Chancellor also once again personally congratulated Biden and the candidate for the post of Vice President Kamala Harris on their victory in the elections.
Earlier, Merkel said that combating the coronavirus pandemic, climate change, terrorism and ensuring free trade will be priorities for Germany and the United States to work together under the new Biden administration.
On November 7, a number of media outlets, including CNN, AP, NBC and Fox News, announced Biden's victory in the US presidential election.
Biden later declared himself the winner of the presidential election.
