Every fifth voter considers gender equality as one of their most important issues and both V and KD want to be involved and fight for their votes.

V has long had feminism as a profile issue.

At the same time, KD is investing heavily in developing its own policy in the area, and is aiming for the position of Minister for Gender Equality in a future government.

But the two politicians do not agree on what is in the concept and the V-leader has in a debate article previously called Ebba Busch a pretend feminist.

- Ebba Busch does not invest in women in working life.

Many women work in health care, school and care and KD always prioritizes tax cuts over improving women's working conditions, says Dadgostar in Aktuelt.

Busch: Tired of being questioned

Ebba Busch replies that she is tired of feminists questioning each other's intentions.

- As a right-wing feminist, I will not question your intentions as a left-wing feminist, she says.

She also says that KD in its latest budget spends more on health care and elderly care than V does.

- It is the difference between talking and actually acting in priorities.

Men's violence against women

In Aktuellt, the two party leaders were asked what they want to do to deal with men's violence against women.

- Here it will be a question of ensuring that the police have sufficient resources.

Women's most basic security is one of our biggest gender equality issues.

Despite the fact that we have a so-called feminist government, they have not been able to prioritize this, says Busch.

Dadgostar answers that she has spent over two decades working against sexual abuse and men's violence against women.

- What I have been struck by is how opposed we have always been to KD.

They did not support the sex purchase law, they voted no to tighten the women's peace legislation and they did not tighten the rape law when they were in control.

We had to do that.

That KD would have opposed sharper legislation is something Ebba Busch is turning against.

- That's really not true.

Of course, we have supported the Swedish sex purchase legislation, but we want it even sharper, says Busch.

She reiterates that the differences between the parties are reflected in priorities in the budget.

- The Left Party has many times said that tougher penalties are not the way forward.

If it has changed, it is very good.
