"I have been in the house for 36 years and this is the first time that I see that".

President of the SNSM station (National Society for Rescue at Sea) in Dinard, Hervé Jean does not take offense after the burglary of which they were victims this weekend.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, one or more individuals broke into the lifeguard boat which was moored in the port.

They got hold of two pairs of binoculars as well as two headlamps and a flashlight, loot estimated at around 300 euros.

"They also tried to start the engines but luckily did not succeed," said Hervé Jean, contacted by

Fingerprints taken from the speedboat

It was Sunday morning, when the rescuers were going to go to sea for a traditional exercise, that the burglary was noted.

Forensic officers went there to take fingerprints found on the speedboat.

It does not matter if you are looking for something.

At the beginning of July, an SNSM inflatable boat had already been vandalized with a cutter on the island of Molène.

"Malicious acts against us are increasing, it is becoming serious," said Hervé Jean.
