During the autumn, distance learning was introduced for many school students, to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

Researchers in Örebro County will now compare whether there is any difference in the prevalence of antibodies to the virus in students who have studied at a distance, compared with those who have not.

The study will include students in grades 1 and 2 at Rudbecksgymnasiet and Virginska school in Örebro and sampling will start next week.

- The study is unique in its kind in what we can assess and will provide important information about the effect of distance education in high school. Information that can hopefully be used in our joint work to reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2, says Martin Sundqvist, chief physician at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Microbiology, Örebro University Hospital and head of the study, in a press release.
