Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called on his country's neighbors to cooperate in order to achieve common interests, after the defeat of US President Donald Trump in the presidential elections.

Zarif said that Tehran extends its hand to its neighbors in order to cooperate to achieve the common interests of the peoples and countries of the region.

He added in his Arabic tweet that Trump is gone and that Iran and its neighbors will remain, and betting on foreigners does not bring security and disappoint hopes, as he put it.

Zarif called for dialogue as the only way to end differences and tensions.

Trump is gone, and we and our neighbors will stay.
