Everything happened so fast.

Sunday evening, in a tram of line 1 in Nantes, a driver was threatened with a weapon by a passenger as the train was leaving the Haluchère stop, we learned on Monday morning.

"The driver had just made a voice announcement because she had spotted that this person was not wearing his mask," indicates the management of Semitan.

It is however compulsory in transport.

"

The man first approached the driver, uttering threats.

After walking away, he would have returned and this time pulled out a pistol.

Passengers would then have intervened, pushing the man to get off at the next stop.

He fled.

"The recalcitrant spoils the situation"

After this incident, the network was interrupted for the rest of the evening on line 1. “Wearing a mask is a subject that is rising lately, which generates tension,” assures Gabriel Magner, elected CFDT at Semitan.

We have 98% of people who respect but the recalcitrant spoils the situation.

We have been asking for it for years: we need more police resources.

Our safety and that of passengers are at stake.
