Earthquakes are increasing in the Strasbourg region recently.

After the four tremors at the end of October, two new episodes have been recorded in recent days by the National Seismic Monitoring Network (Renass).

The first Thursday evening, the second this Sunday at 12:32 p.m.

The two had for epicenter La Wantzenau, a town north of the Alsatian capital, and had a magnitude of 2.2 on the Richter scale.

Their cause?

Geothermal activities.

Finally, the continuity of these since the test phase which was in progress at the Reichstett-Vendenheim site has been suspended.

In a press release this Sunday, the operator Fonroche explains that "the most probable hypothesis is based on a continuity of the adjustment of the rock following the two previous events".
