While the health crisis is raging ever more violently in France, the daily life of the elderly is turned upside down.

But, according to the government spokesperson, guest of the Grand Rendez-vous Sunday, the hypothesis of their forced isolation is not being considered by the executive.

Gabriel Attal spoke of an ethical problem.

INTERVIEW

France has since Saturday deplored more than 40,000 victims of the coronavirus epidemic.

While health measures are being strengthened everywhere in France, the protection of the most vulnerable people is at the heart of the dilemma facing the authorities.

The possibility of targeted isolation for the elderly is invoked by some, but government spokesman Gabriel Attal said in the Grand Rendez-vous on Sunday that this option was not being considered.

"There is no question of an imposed confinement for the elderly," he said, which he said poses an ethical problem.
