(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Passengers must board the plane with a negative "double test" certificate when the new rules are implemented for flights to China

China News Service, Toronto, November 7 (Reporter Yu Ruidong) In order to reduce the cross-border spread of the epidemic, starting from November 7, Chinese and foreign passengers taking flights from Canada to China must present their samples in Canada within 2 days before boarding. The negative certificate of the new coronavirus nucleic acid test and the negative test of serum-specific IgM antibody ("serum antibody") are indispensable for boarding.

According to the notice issued by the Chinese Embassy in Canada on October 31, both nucleic acid testing and serum antibody testing (hereinafter referred to as "dual testing") should be completed in Canada 2 days before the passenger boarding, subject to the sampling time.

Passengers can be tested at any testing point, hospital, pharmacy and other institutions approved by the Canadian health department.

Those who need to transit to China via a third country must undergo the first “dual test” in Canada and board the plane with the negative test certificate.

After arriving in the transit country, a second "double test" was performed and a negative certificate was obtained.

Both "dual inspections" must be completed within 2 days before boarding.

On the first day of the implementation of the new regulations on the 7th, Canada has 3 direct flights to China, including China Eastern Airlines Flight MU208 from Toronto to Shanghai, Air China Flight CA998 from Vancouver to Beijing via Zhengzhou, and Sichuan Airlines Flight 3U8502 from Vancouver to Chengdu.

A reporter from China News Agency saw at Toronto Pearson International Airport that airline check-in staff must check and keep the paper version of the "double test" negative certificate when applying for boarding passes for passengers preparing to fly to Shanghai.

The on-site staff also measured the body temperature of the passengers and reminded the passengers to write down their contact number in China on the “double test” negative certificate.

Some passengers said that because they are the first passengers to board the plane with a "double test" negative certificate, there are many unknown factors, and they are unaware after learning of the new regulations.

The process of testing and receiving reports is relatively tight, but generally smooth.

A passenger surnamed Sun said that in order to seek "double insurance", he traveled between Montreal and Toronto within the prescribed time limit and obtained negative certificates from different testing agencies in the two places in time.

In the past few days, the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in Canada has also used its official website, Chinese community WeChat group and other channels to answer questions about the new regulations to passengers in China.

At present, China has imposed a requirement for passengers on flights to China from the United States, Europe, Oceania, Africa, and Southeast Asia, to have a "double test" negative certificate for boarding, but the timing of implementation varies among countries.
