A dramatic road accident took place late Saturday afternoon in Bruguières, a town north of Toulouse.

A man who was riding a motorbike on a departmental road lost control of his machine.

He mowed down two people walking on the side of the road before crashing into a car.

The 30-year-old biker died in the accident, reports France 3 Occitanie.

The two pedestrians were seriously injured, one of them, fallen into a deep ditch, had to be rescued by the specialized firefighters of the group of intervention in perilous environment.

An investigation was opened by the Haute-Garonne gendarmerie to shed light on the circumstances of this fatal accident.
