A number of weather stations broke their heat records for the month of November.

In Hedeviken in Härjedalen, 12.2 degrees was measured, and in Värmland, Småland and Blekinge, records were broken on the assembly line.

The warmest of them all was the station in Gladhammar, where 18.4 degrees was noted at 12.40.

It is a touchdown on the previous heat record, which was set in Ugerup in Skåne in 1968.

The reason for the high heat is balmy winds from the Atlantic.

-There is a low pressure over the northern Norwegian Sea, and it brings milder, westerly winds over Sweden, says Ibrahim Al-Mausawe, meteorologist at SMHI.

Still hot this weekend

Anyone who wants to enjoy the heat can take advantage of this weekend.

-I do not think we will see any more record temperatures, but in the south it will be up to 10-12 degrees, and in the north from just below zero to plus five, says Ibrahim Al-Mausawe.

SMHI's long-term forecast also shows that mild weather awaits in the future.

-Neither in the long run is there any real cold going on, based on what we can see now, says Ibrahim Al-Mausawe.
