Last summer, the Children and Education Committee in Nyköping was commissioned by the City Council to investigate the possibilities of reducing school costs by upwards of SEK 30 million before 2022. In a proposal now developed by officials, it is specified in which areas the committee hopes to save money.

Among other things, it is expected to be able to win six million kronor by taking a "larger market share" in primary school.

This means that you want more children to choose the municipal school instead of independent schools, and if that happens, you will receive increased income in the form of school fees that are given to each student.

To achieve this, the governing politicians in the Children and Education Committee now want to see better marketing of the municipal high school in Nyköping.

No from the opposition

However, the opposition parties chose to disapprove of the proposal when it was raised at the committee meeting.
