Bayern Munich, the defending champion, is the only team at the top of the German football league table thanks to its impressive 3-2 victory at the stadium of direct pursuit Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in the seventh stage of the Bundesliga.

Leipzig advanced to the runner-up by defeating its home team Freiburg, 3-0.

In other matches in the same stage, Union Berlin swept its hosts Armenia by five straight points, Hertha Berlin beat Augsburg by 3-0, Mainz drew 2-2 with Schalke, and with the same result, Stuttgart drew 2-2 with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Bavarian team raised its score in the lead to 18 points, two points behind runner-up Leipzig, and Dortmund's score stopped at 15 points in third place.

At the "Signal Iduna Park" stadium, captain Marco Reus led a goal for Dortmund in the last minute of the first half.

But in the fourth minute of stoppage time for the first half, Austrian David Alaba scored the equalizer for the Bavarian club.

Just three minutes into the second half, Polish Robert Lewandowski added the second goal for Bayern.

Bayern strengthened its lead with a third goal without Leroy Sani (80).

Seven minutes before the end Erling Haaland hit back with a goal for Dortmund.

In the stoppage time of the match, Lewandowski scored a goal for Bayern, but the referee canceled it again for offside.
