Bayern Munich won 3-2 in Dortmund on Saturday and took the lead in the German championship alone at the end of the 7th day, after a "Klassiker" which kept all its promises.

After an open match until the end, the "Rekordmeister" (18 pts) is now ahead in the standings RB Leipzig (16 pts), winner Saturday 3-0 of Freiburg three days after its 2-1 victory in the Champions League against the Paris SG, and Borussia Dortmund (15 pts).

Marco Reus opened the scoring for BVB (45th) before David Alaba answered him in added time of the first period (45th + 4).

But the inevitable Robert Lewandowski struck the winning blow just after the break, with a superb uncrossed header (2-1, 48 ').

Leroy Sané sheltered Bayern (3-1, 80th), and a late goal from Erling Haaland (3-2, 83rd) did not change anything.

"It was the cold efficiency in front of the goal that made the difference," said Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, former Bavarian.

"We had a lot, a lot of chances that we didn't use."

Bayern, reigning European champions and relentless since the resumption in September, dominated this Bundesliga summit, between two teams who shared first place at kick-off.

- Awkward Haaland -

Dortmund, the best defense in the championship, conceded more goals in a single match than in the first six meetings of the season (two goals conceded).

He can only console himself by noting that he has lowered his rival's goal average, which was exactly four per game in the league and the Champions League so far.

Lucien Favre, when criticized for not raising his team to Bayern level, often pleads the difference in individual quality between his young squad and the host of stars of the "Rekordmeister".

This Klassiker brought water to his mill.

While Lewandowski, recently voted UEFA player of the year, scored the winning goal with a superb uncrossed header, winning his aerial duel against Mats Hummels, and the young Norwegian prodigy from Dortmund Erling Haaland, 20, s' is shown too rough to tell the difference.

Five times, he failed to frame, and when he found himself in a situation of decisive pass, he missed his cross while Reus and Reyna were demarcated at six meters (47th).

His superb goal (3-2, 83rd), where he allowed himself to dribble Manuel Neuer in the box, gave hope to his family, but it was too late.

- Kimmich injured -

Bayern believed they had taken the lead in the 24th minute, when Lewandowski, traditionally in high spirits against his former team (16 goals in 12 "Klassiker") scored on a cross from Gnabry.

But after a long wait, the video assistant canceled the goal, for a millimeter offside.

The Pole was denied another goal by VAR in added time at the end of the match.

But this "hat-trick" finally reduced to a single goal does not prevent it from prancing at the top of the scorers' standings, with 11 goals in seven days (and only six matches played).

Everything would be fine for Bayern if they hadn't seen their midfielder leader Joshua Kimmich come out on injury.

The international, who apparently hurt his knee on a tackle, was in tears on the pitch and when he was evacuated, standing but helped by two healers.
